This worked from both USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A on all USB ports I tried ( 2.0 and 3.0). Other cases didn't work because they required too much power and the computer couldn't initialize them. It's getting warm, but not that bad. USB-A port speeds are around 270 writes and 430 reads using an older Toshiba THNSN5256GPUK 256GB m-key NVMe drive I pulled from an updated Dell XPS laptop. It was 300/900 with a USB-C to USB-C cable. This was used by AJA System Test 2.1 and the settings were: 4GB file, 16-bit RGB and 4K resolution of 4096 x 1714. Because that's the kind of files I would send regularly. A better SSD will definitely deliver better results.
