These might be the correct straps but installation is a little trickier than I expected. I called Hoover and a wonderful lady named Angel sent me instructions on how to attach the straps to avoid the almost instantaneous collapse I experienced. Here are the instructions from Hoover Customer Service. I will update my review after receiving the new belts and installing them according to these instructions: 1. Set the vacuum cleaner height adjustment to the minimum setting. Make sure the brush bar pedal is in the "on" position and the pedal is in the air.3. Replace belt (see manual for additional instructions).4. Place the device in an upright position.5. Rotate the machine's tilt handle to the ground.6. Press the roller brush pedal three times and return the handle to its original position7. The belt must be tight.
