Review on Noctua NF S12A PWM Premium Quiet by Lakeem Pickel

Best Buy: Computers and Accessories

Installs two NF-S12A PWM as intake and exhaust fans. These are the ones that are optimized for airflow. Once you set the correct fan profile in the BIOS, they run almost silently and offer excellent airflow. My computer originally came with only an exhaust fan and nothing else. I added an RTX 2080ti and my graphics card was heating up to 80-84C. After installing the Noctua Intake fan, the temperature dropped by 10-12 degrees. Definitely worth buying. The most common complaint I hear about these fans isn't related to their quality or performance, it's their color. It's probably the same idiots who make their computers look like RGB Christmas trees. When did component color ever become a factor in PC build quality? Hey, can I have my Ferrari in pink!? Noctua finally gave up and is now making them in black. If you're having trouble choosing the right fan for your application, visit the Noctua website - you'll find all the information you need there. NF-A12. (I left an NF-S12A for the exhaust). The NF-A12 has a higher static pressure rating, which worked much better for me. I didn't find it necessary as I don't have a heatsink, dust filter or other obstacles that the NF-A12 is better suited to - just the honeycomb front grille which is common in most cases. As it turned out, this impedance was enough to ensure optimal airflow under load. (no difference at idle). If you're not gaming or doing other CPU/GPU intensive activities, the NF-S12A is quite suitable. In my case, too, it not only cooled better, but was also quieter under extreme loads; (tested with a dB meter). If you compare the fans, the A12 is like a diesel compared to the S12A, which runs on gas (torque versus speed). Depending on your PC case and your intended use, one or the other will work much better. I would only recommend the S12A as a supply air fan if you don't have any obstructions blocking airflow. In this case, it is the best performer.
