Purchased blue-pink (cheapest of two versions from same seller). Both were wrapped in shrink wrap. Somehow the pink was quite damp (like it had been shrink wrapped wet) and smelled absolutely awful. The blue wasn't that wet anymore, but it still smelled. I have washed both and they are fine and I will still give them to my kids but I can't send a midwest grandma and hope they are in better shape. They are huge and fit in our dog's pocket. The zip is cheap so I don't know how long it will last as a pillow and once the zip breaks it doesn't look as good as a sweatshirt. I think the price difference between this and the original competitor is in the quality of materials and tailoring. While it has fun features for kids (pockets, pillows, sweatshirt attachment), I only wish it could be gifted, but it isn't.
