Review on Sceptre C248W 1920R Monitor: Curved DisplayPort Screen with Built-In Speakers, Wall Mountable & Flicker-Free Technology - C248W-1920R by Daniel Stiff

Budget monitor - great price, mediocre features

Bought two, sent one back. The monitors I received DO NOT HAVE A DISPLAYPORT. Description and picture do not match. A customer showed a photo with him, but the one I received didn't. I was about to return them both but for a sub $100 monitor it really has what you need. Just not everything you want. I think it will be a decent secondary monitor. But I'll pay a little more for a better body. Pros: Curved, Lightweight, Low Power Consumption, Fantastic Price! Cons: 1) The stand is rubbish, clearly designed with the intention of being on a swing arm. But that was my plan, so I don't mind. 2) I almost fell off my chair when I saw the power supply. This is similar to what I use to connect a portable speaker. Definitely a budget choice, but I think it's functional 3) A small circle of blue light protrudes from the bottom edge of the screen. Not sure if this is a game feature as it's under the controls on the back of the screen. But I find it disturbing. 4) There is a 1/4 inch gap between the screen and the bezel. 5) When I boot up I notice that there is some fading (on a dark screen). I don't really notice it in normal use but it's there 6) NO DISPLAYPORT 7) Speakers are terrible, never used I'm the type of person who never complains about the sound quality and I'm usually happy with whatever I do get. You are just bad. For the first time in 10 years I will be buying additional speakers. 8) When the computer wakes up, the monitor seems to last forever, much longer than I've ever seen any other monitor. I have conflicting information about my refresh rate in my settings. One spot says 75Hz and another says 60Hz. Where 60 says there is a drop down menu to select others, but 60 was the highest. I tried making a custom 75 but it said that option already exists, I just can't select it, so I made a custom for 74Hz and it seemed to work. So I chose 74Hz but another tab says I have 75Hz. So what do I actually get, who knows?
