I agree with the other reviews above. They seem strong enough, but they are loose. Worse than losing, they are not gloves and have no right to be called gloves. These are hand straps and attach with 3 thin strips of velcro and cannot be tightened at all. The weight is good, heavier than most weighted "gloves" at 3 pounds per 1, but they're loose, bulky, and flimsy. They're also not that easy to put on on your own, but they might fit a little better if your boyfriend puts them on for you. Now I don't hate them, at least I don't return them, but this isn't a product I would recommend if you don't mind a very loose fit.
