I thought that this product in combination with certain software (my choice fell on Samsung Magician) would be better and cheaper than buying a docking station for $ 30-80, and I was don't err either. The build quality probably won't last you forever, but it will last long enough to pay for itself. I noticed a scratch on the blue cable connector which indicates that it will eventually break. I wish they would only mention two things: 1) Since the power consumption of a full size HDD is much higher than that of an SSD, it only works with USB 3.0 or higher. 2) For best results when using this device, try not to eject the disc while the computer is on, even if you are using an "eject device".
