After sliding the connectors through the vent, turn the knob to push the clip forward and hold the vent cover securely. This twist has such nice clicks. Almost a stress reliever. Anyway, it's way better than the vent-only compression type. The clamp really makes you feel like it's not going anywhere. The magnetic mount is strong enough for my Galaxy S21 Ultra so I think it will hold most phones comfortably (I used the large piece of metal that came with the box). Will probably buy another one for my 2nd car. Love it!
