Note. I needed a cable to replace an old one that was no longer working. In my case for an old Magellan SporTrak GPS. The error message on three computers was "COM port 3 is busy". Tera Grand provides a very detailed .pdf file online. You can also download the latest drivers from its website. (The drivers are on the package CD.) When I plugged it in I still got an error, so after much searching I found a solution. If your problem is related to a busy port, type "Troubleshoot" in the Windows 10 search box and select "Performance and Health." Click and select Device Drivers. The troubleshooter starts to work. I had to run it twice as it got online looking for drivers and such, but it ended up creating a new COM port (probably COM port 5) for my GPS software to use. From what I've read and my own experience, Tera Grand is indeed the best USB to Serial solution. It might even be the only good solution. This is definitely the solution with the documentation you need to solve your problem.
