Flexibility and Attractiveness

This is a great product at a great price. Ignore negative ratings or negative comments. Yes, the bar is flexible because when a vehicle hits it, it moves away and flexes back instead of just falling onto the bill. If you fill it with cement or sand, as one person suggests, the pole will lose its flexibility and may break if hit by a vehicle. And as for the negative buyer who said the rod broke when he slammed the two pieces together, I believe the buyer tried to put the two pieces together without noticing that there was a small gap between the two pieces or should be a gap. I can't connect the pieces smoothly because the gap is part of the design, but they kept rattling until the bar broke. Stupid, stupid, stupid, don't do it. Leave it as is and as intended. What you need to do, and what I have done, is cement the base into the ground. Yes, it shakes slightly when you touch the mailbox, but so what? It's safe and durable. It's not unstable like someone said, it's just flexible. The only negative I can say about it is that it's about $7 less at Walmart. I recommend this very attractive mailbox with a set of poles. I like it.
