After installing the mailbox, I thought it looked a little wobbly (made of plastic). Then in Puerto Rico we had Hurricanes Irma and Maria (almost Category 5). It took me less than a minute to unscrew and stow the box. The mailbox survived both hurricanes! Almost every other mailbox in the area, made of metal, wood or cement, was destroyed by Hurricane Maria. It's still out front and looking great! Just follow the installation instructions carefully. Very happy with the purchase.

The only reason I had to replace it after about 8 or 9 years was because my dingbat neighbor came across it. 3 times. Every time I dug up the concrete (bought a 10 pound bucket, fixed the mailbox right in the bucket, the concrete mix came in), put a ferrule on the broken post, and Bob's your uncle! We were less than 4 days away. We saw all the great reviews where we thought the plastic was nice and flexible. So when snow or a snow plow hits with a fleeting thump, it should be better than a regular mailbox, but it's worse. Our previous mailbox took several hits before being destroyed. This mailbox is nothing more than garbage. This is only enough if you have no other choice. It looks cheap when you take it out of the box. Nothing but empty plastic. Most importantly, the most important part of the mailbox (the box) was so deformed that the front could not close without being pinched on the sides. My postman won't do that every day. Pros: Easy to install - everything you need is included. Easy assembly - everything installed in 15 minutes or less. Quality - Mail consists of two parts. Item comes with all parts. Easy to read and follow instructions. The post hole is a little deeper than stated, not much, maybe an inch and a half. We used Quikcrete in the base, then a coat of primer, another coat of Quikcrete, and then a primer. Stamped the ground around. This is definitely a 2 person job. This is a great product at a great price. Ignore negative ratings or negative comments. Yes, the bar is flexible because when a vehicle hits it, it moves away and flexes back instead of just falling onto the bill. If you fill it with cement or sand, as one person suggests, the pole will lose its flexibility and may break if hit by a vehicle. And as for the negative buyer who said the rod broke when he slammed the two pieces together, I believe the buyer tried to put the two pieces together…
