Item comes with all parts. Easy to read and follow instructions. The post hole is a little deeper than stated, not much, maybe an inch and a half. We used Quikcrete in the base, then a coat of primer, another coat of Quikcrete, and then a primer. Stamped the ground around. This is definitely a 2 person job. One to keep the post straight while the other pours and tamps. The whole job took 25 minutes from start to finish. The lip of the box snaps to stay closed and the checkbox snaps to hold it in place. The night after the new mailbox was installed we had winds of 40 mph and it never moved. That ugly old wall mailbox has been removed. This product is perfect for our hiking mail route. The color goes perfectly with our brown fairing. We are very glad we made this purchase. And it was made in the good old USA!
