I'm not a craftsman by any sense of the word. But I do know how to sharpen steel to a razor sharp edge. These chisels, although inexpensive, are well suited for holding a razor sharp edge for the person that knows how to properly sharpen them. There are many YouTube videos explaining this but the best one I've seen is called "32 seconds to sharp" look it up. So that's the good about these, they will hold a good edge. The bad. The handles are not so good. They could be just a bit thicker and have a better more secure attachment to the shank.Final thoughts: For the person that wants to do a few hand cut dovetails and is not using this to earn his/her bread, good buy. For the furniture making craftsman that can cut dovetails in his/her sleep? Not so much. Are the $400 chisels sets worth it for the latter? Yes. For the money, this is a good enough set to learn with and if you don't decide to pursue the hobby/craft any further then you're not out a small fortune.
