Beautiful and durable
This awl is strong, simple and effective. My experience with this is that I have used it to work leather with a US made hammer (Vaughan) and tongs (SOG). the one who was hit --- ha! I agree that the hammer head is a bit wrinkled and ultimately I am very happy with the purchase of this awl as it has proven to be true "Made in the USA" quality.
