Review on Hunter Dempsey Low Profile Ceiling Fan with LED Light and Remote Control - Enhanced Indoor Air Circulation and Convenient Control by Claudia Brown

Let me start by saying that with extensive experience installing ceiling fans from Lows or Home Depots ranging from $50-$100, the build quality of this Hunter fan is superior to others. The interaction requires more steps than with the cheap models, but is very simple and well explained in the installation instructions. I wasn't planning on using the included remote (I left it in the package) as I had a Z-Wave fan controller pre-installed and a Z-Wave dimmer in the wall, so I connected this fan the same way as I would any normal fan. The first thing that struck me about this fan compared to others I have installed is that this fan is COMPLETELY QUIET. I've certainly never found my other fans to be LOUD, but this one just doesn't make any sound, which is cool. The only issue I had, which is pretty minor, is that the 2x 60w LED bulbs that come with the fan are cheap, crappy and non-dimmable. Firstly, since these are "old-fashioned” LED bulbs with an opaque plastic base, when used, the light only comes out "from above”, so that two distinct points of light appear against the background of the LED frosted white glass fan dome; it's not very smooth. Second, the lamps are not dimmable, so they will flicker when used with a dimmer. It was easy enough to replace them with dimmable all-glass LED bulbs (and now that's perfect), but I think given the price of this fan kit they could have included better bulbs - and in my case, they might NOT have included that Kit, the wireless remote control so people like me who won't be using it anyway don't have to pay for it. If this fan was $100 without a remote instead of $150 (with remote), a few more of these would replace other fans in my house right now.
