I want to give this product five stars because they are really good trays. They feature beautiful working construction, an easy-to-clean surface, and a quirky design that's still tasteful. They have a kind of smooth veneer on top that prevents food and dirt from clogging in the pores like untreated wooden bowls do. However, packaging is an absolute war crime. I'm pretty sure this is the only time in my life that packaging has sparked a legitimate curiosity in me, weren't it more convenient to create a product from scratch using raw materials. The manufacturer apparently wrapped the tray in shrink wrap themselves and then drilled the legs into the floor. In the end you have two choices: 1.) use a utility knife to cut off excess plastic around the screws that always looks sticky, or 2.) disassemble the tray completely to remove the plastic wrap. I can't believe it would be so difficult to drill holes in the plastic where the legs meet the tray. Once past the biblical crime of plastic wrap, you come across a label sticker on a tray. the surface of the tray itself, which when removed leaves (you guessed it) a thick mass of adhesive. Why didn't the label go on the plastic wrap? Who knows.tl;dr: Great trays. For the good of all, please fire anyone wrapping/labeling/packaging these things.
