This 3M tape is well worth the extra cost and offers a great deal compared to cheaper alternatives in every way better performance. For optimal adhesion, clean the surfaces well with detergent, then rinse and dry well before use. If you take these steps, this tape will stay with you for months. At the end of the season it is best to remove it easily, cleanly and without leaving any residue. It is also gentle on undamaged surfaces. If used on flaking, damaged painted/finish surfaces some flakes may be removed so use with caution. This works equally well for keeping out hot air (e.g. sealing crevices around a window air conditioner) and cold air (e.g. securing and sealing an air conditioner cover in winter). Also, it's very easy to work with - it cuts cleanly, doesn't stick to itself too easily.
