Not recommended. They are well made, but I don't like their design. The prongs are too wide/thick to pierce bite-sized food, the handles are awkwardly shaped to hold, the child wants the handle in their mouth 100% of the time, and the gag guard is optional. Added Baby Led Weaning but my son has always wanted to put pens in his mouth. They are smooth and round, the perfect size for an orally restrained baby. And when we occasionally fed him a piece of food, it was uncomfortable to hold. We switched to baby cutlery with no stoppers and it was fine. He still wanted to put the ends of the pen in his mouth but managed to pull away to actually eat what was stuck at the other end. We have to trust our children: sometimes they can handle more than we offer.
