Almost immediately after the purchase and arrival, we had a severe winter storm with a power failure. Just recently we had another big storm and power outage which is why we got this in the first place. My son and I were thrilled that some of the lights came on when the power went out! It was a much better experience than the previous blackout. We could see well what we needed (lanterns, other flashlights, etc.) while previously immersed in frightening darkness. These lights gave us a sense of calm and security. The night lights help a lot with the soft bluish glow that changes to a brighter LED light when the power goes out. They seem very well made for the price and I've bought half a dozen more to keep at my elderly parents' house. The night part is especially good for their long corridor and now I know that during a power outage they will be able to move around without falling etc. I'm a fan.
