Review on Upgrade Your Power Tools: Introducing the Superior Electric SW7A Aftermarket On-Off Toggle Switch for Delta 489105-00 & Ridgid 46023 by Bill Snyder

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Update: failed after 1 year.

I bought this to replace the switch on a Hitachi F1000a planer/stripper that runs on 115VAC single phase. The planer has a thin steel electrical box with a similar looking rectangular switch and opening. The good thing about the product is that it has a schematic printed on the side and each of the pins is numbered to refer to the schematic. The bad news is that the Revain ad doesn't list the most basic specs, nor the size of the hole needed to hold the switch in place, nor the thickness of the metal wall. " both open lengthwise, and not force closed with plastic locks, since the case wall thickness was 2 times less, but it was mechanically locked and safe to use as is. In order to better secure the switch, I had around add a stick-on RTV and eliminate any bumps or wobble. Also, using push-in connectors for the wires made the switch and wiring too long to fit vertically in the existing switch box.I was able to bend the contact of the switch to make more room create in the vertical position and it fits. Works well with secure locks on and off. There were no installation instructions. The price was a little better than the competition. I saw it sell for $5 but when If you add the shipping cost, it will exceed the basic cost of this switch Update failed after 1 year of light use.
