I have a large wet/dry ridgid with a 2-1/2 inch hose connection. I bought this extra long hose specifically for use with this vacuum to unclog a clog in our dryer vent that couldn't be cleaned with a lint brush. I needed a long hose to get to the clog. This hose looks like the hose for my wet/dry vacuum, only longer. It has a tapered end on one end for attaching accessories and the other end is just an open hose. This set comes with 3 different sized adapters for this non-tapered end, allowing the hose to be adapted to different sized vacuum fittings. All adapters have a slightly tapered end designed to fit inside the hose and stay in place. It's a tight fit, but they hold up if you work on them. The main problem with this hose is that the largest adapter advertised for a standard 2-1/2" fitting will NOT fit this fitting. I measured the adapter and it is 2-1/4" inside diameter and 2-5/8" outside diameter. The good news is that the tapered end of my existing vacuum hose fits snugly onto this adapter. So basically this hose can't replace my existing vacuum hose, it works like a 20 foot extension. So anyone who has a vacuum with a 2-1/2 inch fitting is wasting money paying for a coupler when they intend to extend their current hose. However, you will be disappointed if you intend to replace your existing hose with a fitting of the same size. So this 20 foot hose is a good extension of the existing hose that connects to the 2-1/2 inch vacuum fitting. The included adapter is not the correct size to use this 2-1/2 inch fitting hose as a replacement hose. Other adapters included may fit other vacuum cleaner brands and two different connection sizes, so this hose may be suitable as a replacement hose for other vacuum cleaners depending on your vacuum cleaner and connection size. Being able to connect this hose to your wet/vacuum cleaner is a great way to clean your dryer air duct, increase dryer efficiency and reduce the risk of fire in your dryer air duct.
