The mounting bracket is not removed during installation.

This fan cannot be installed by one person without a detachable bracket. Not only can you not use a screwdriver, but you need cap screws that can only be used for ratchet tightening. Also be careful as there is only one hole in the bracket at the back corner, there are no holes. for corner mounting. Make sure you can drill through the metal to fit the corner. I haven't turned it on yet, it was such a pain to install and I haven't gotten that far yet!
