There is a place to close the door with a 50A plug. I'd say it's splashproof rather than waterproof. Not rated for #6 wire (required for 50 amps). I had to split the #6 stranded wire to fit it in the terminal. The screw runs down the center of the terminal hole so #6 wire (50A wire) will not fit without splitting the strands. The Phillips screws used to clamp wires are tiny. hope they hold up. Knockouts are a joke. As others have said a hammer will only damage the box. You will need to use a hole saw or something else to make the hole. Why they churn out and don't let them work. Time will tell if this 50 amp van box will last.
