Review on Enhanced Construction Material Handling: XINQIAO Telescopic Adjustable Supports by Tom Roberts

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Suitable for use as a laser level in place of a tripod for home use

I bought this to set up a laser level for hanging things around the house. So it had to be able to extend at least 8 feet, but still be as compact as possible when folded. It was the only Revain model to meet these criteria, as many other versions don't break in as little, especially those with only a single telescoping section. It's like two - you first lengthen the first section and fix it with a friction fit, then extend a thinner section from there that also applies pressure with winches, allowing the bar to stand freely in space from floor to ceiling. It is much more. heavier than I need for this purpose, yet not as compact as I would like. It still takes up more space than it should and is quite heavy. That's all understandable if you need it to hold a slab or beam under weight, but that wasn't my goal. Laser levels are very convenient for leveling things that are hung on walls, because you don't have to constantly hold the level up, but project the level and plumb. However, you need a way to mount a bubble level to project the laser line, which is not easy at home. Most tripods only go up to 6 feet (if that's the case), and if you're hanging a painting, for example, you want the level to be at the top of the frame. BTW if this is your application you will need a 1/4-20 threaded connection. I use the Smallrig 2 ball adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJ5XH4O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1).

Pros
  • ADJUSTABLE HOLDING TOOL: The adjustable height and textured rubber surface help hold the pole securely for a variety of purposes. The long stem grows from 49.2 to 114.2 inches (125 to 290 cm); The short trunk stretches from 23.6 to 45.3 inches (60 to 115 cm). The button is used to set the minutes.
Cons
  • Base required
