Review on High Performance K&N Motorcycle Oil Filter KN-153 for Synthetic or Conventional Oils - Designed for Ducati Motorcycles (Black) by Aaron Long

Excellent fit. Reading the reviews it seems like K&N had some quality control issues when they didn't thread very well a few years ago. It appears to have been a one off issue as it was identical to the Ducati OEM filter. Easy installation with a nut built in at the end. I had some trouble removing the old K&N filter as the nut ended up being too soft and starting to separate from the wrench. However, this was not a K&N issue as the previous owner torqued the filter much more than recommended. I ended up having to pierce the old filter with a screwdriver to remove it. I don't see this problem reoccurring when the filter is set to match the torque spec. It is highly recommended to fill the filter with oil prior to installation to reduce the amount of air in the system during initial startup.
