Review on 🪒 Philips Norelco Shaver 1100 S1015/81: A Review and Buying Guide by Amber Leigh

After using it for a few weeks I came to several conclusions. It's able to shave as close as any other razor I've used (mainly a few old Norelco models). However, this will take a little more time and effort. I have to do many, many passes and push pretty hard to remove all the stubble. You really have to go straight against the coat to get smooth skin (previous Norelco products have been more effective in many ways). My previous Norelco took longer than I would like, but it's a big step forward. On the plus side, it seems almost incapable of causing severe skin irritation. If I didn't shave first thing in the morning, my old razors felt like I'd rubbed them with sandpaper. With this model, I can shave at any time of the day and I don't feel any irritation. Even with repeated sanding of the same areas, it is necessary to obtain a smooth surface. So pretty cute. For now I think the small slots in the ridges should be smaller than on my previous models. This appears to correspond to a slow onset and low level of irritation. I still stick to the old school when it comes to corded razors. But I'm not a fan of a straight, semi-rigid, thin cable and a small power supply plugged into the wall. The cord bangs against the wall as I move the razor back and forth, picking up the last stubble, which is annoying. I'm still working on my cord holding technique so I don't wake up family members on the other side of the wall. With such a cord it is much more difficult to stow. I liked the coiled cord on my previous shavers - they easily popped into the first aid kit. The shaver itself is light and quiet. You can clearly hear whether it's cutting or not. This helps guide your technique. As with other models, the heads are easy to clean. I don't think they'll fall apart anytime soon, but we'll see. I hope it lasts for many years like other Norelco razors I've had. In summary, the balance of pros and cons leaves it more or less on par with my previous razor. On that note, the caution is not to mix blades and combs - I accidentally dropped all the pieces on my old one. Against hope I put it back together. Yes, they turned and stopped several times. With the cost of blades (rather rare, it seems), the razor was "added up". At the price of more expensive new razors that have more generally good reviews, I'll probably try to live with them for at least ten years. **************** After a few weeks I couldn't take it anymore and found some blades for my old Norelco. Look, he shaves in a fraction of the time (like 1/2 or even 1/4). A little rougher on the skin, but that's ok. This razor isn't really bad, just incredibly slow for me.
