I had a previous model of this razor and decided to 'upgrade' rather than replace the blades. Usually the first shave with a new razor goes great. After using it for a few weeks I came to several conclusions. It's able to shave as close as any other razor I've used (mainly a few old Norelco models). However, this will take a little more time and effort. I have to do many, many passes and push pretty hard to remove all the stubble. You really have to go straight against the coat to get smooth skin (previous Norelco products have been more effective in many ways).
