If you don't already know what you're going to do with this device, don't rely on its instructions to get started. One of the first things you need to do to make sure the test works is record audio. but this device does not support sound! Due to flawed design, this device is VIDEO ONLY and does not support AUDIO. The chip on the device can do it, it's just not wired properly to work. So close and so far. Also note that it cannot support full 1920 x 1080p video at standard rate (60Hz) and you will need to lower the rate to 30Hz, which not all devices support. If you have a specific use case, you need this device because it can work, but otherwise you might want to consider an HDMI USB 3.0 capture device, which is more versatile.
