Perfect for PiKVM in Computers & Accessories category

This board is PERFECT for PiKVM and works great. Please note that there are known issues with the Pi booting up when plugged in when using an AliExpress 4-port KVM switch, but this is not the fault of that particular board/module, it is most likely the main chipset or the switch itself. The Quality of the board is good, the included cables are of excellent quality, the packaging is excellent.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Not the best

Works great for pi-kvm.

I bought this to use for pi-kvm (KVM-over-IP with Raspberry Pi) and it works great. It comes with cables for both the Pi Zero and the "regular size" Raspberry Pi and I can confirm that the video worked on the Pi Zero and Pi 4. I had to stop using the Pi Zero because it had VNC issues and keyboard/mouse although the video was ok. Pi4 works great.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Expensive

DOES NOT support audio over HDMI

After getting this board and doing a lot of searching I found that for audio you need to solder some connectors to the board and connect them via the GPIO pins on the Pi, to get the audio. This, combined with the MAJOR difficulty of not scrambling the signal upon capture, makes it less than ideal for streaming games. Recommend this to someone new to electronics or audiovisual manipulation on Linux.

Pros
  • Delivers a good experience
Cons
  • Requires socket

i2s sound broken: single-board computer

available After an unfortunate amount of time debugging and a hint from the Raspberry Pi forums that some of the Chinese tc358743 boards broke i2s, I checked with an oscilloscope and indeed the SD pin has no i2s output , even if WFS and SCK are properly powered by the Raspberry Pi. It seems that the SD pin is actually connected to one of the HDMI signals, as I sometimes see an incoherent signal on it when selecting different DV pixel formats from the source. I checked the geekworm forums and in

  • Everything is fine!

No audio support, poor installation/support

If you don't already know what you're going to do with this device, don't rely on its instructions to get started. One of the first things you need to do to make sure the test works is record audio. but this device does not support sound! Due to flawed design, this device is VIDEO ONLY and does not support AUDIO. The chip on the device can do it, it's just not wired properly to work. So close and so far. Also note that it cannot support full 1920 x 1080p video at standard rate (60Hz) and you…

Pros
  • Chip
Cons
  • Big and bulky
