Device wire color issue

This product is very reliable. My big problem is who chose the wire color placement. Standard American wire code: white wire ground - yellow wire left turn/stop - green wire right turn/stop - amber tail light/marker light - blue brake wire - red or black power/battery wire - purple backup circuit wire But not for these types usually uses white ground but then green for tail and marker / brown for right turn / stop red left turn / stop yellow for backup circuit and they used blue for brakes and black for power wires. I connected the wires to my trailer, knowing the wires would go and none of the lights would work, so I plugged in the charger that connected to the brown one. Wires in junction box and taillights were green plugged in and right light was amber left was reconnected to my pickup and nothing the heck unplugged it got the tester and checked my truck everything worked what the heck took the box that did this thing had in it and saw a piece of paper turned it over and there was just some normal colors that should work so I changed them, now they work. The big problem is a year from now if the lights don't work and someone removes the junction box cover, they're going to be in there scratching their heads and wondering what the heck I did. For that reason alone I'm giving this product 1 star it ate. Most of my day I'm busy trying to find the problem and rewire it. The box and cable are well made and the box has slots and rubber plugs for the whole part.
