Years ago I bought a complete set of Fortsner bits in a nice wooden box for about $8 more than this bit. When it came time to use them, they came in really handy for getting the exact size I needed. Nothing more. Apart from burning wood, they are practically useless. It amazes me how they can make a part that looks exactly like the real thing and then capitalize on the fact that they can't give it a decent raw edge. That was before I really learned about cheap imported cutting tools. When I had some serious paying work that required a couple of precision drills, I didn't hesitate to buy a Freud - although they weren't top-notch carpentry enthusiasts, they're easy to find in big stores, and as I've learned, nothing cuts quite like it like Freud. .
