Review on Carbide Extreme Storm Titanium Metal by Shawn Trotter

Super brittle isn't best for this type of instrument.

This cutting tip was recommended to me by a frequent store. I bought it specifically to cut old 304 stainless steel pipe stuck in an aluminum pole that says everywhere: metal, thick metal, steel pipe, etc. But just a few seconds after my cut, it broke. Then it exploded again. So in less than a minute and only about 1/8" through my 1/2" stainless steel it became what you see in the photo. due to the failure of that blade, although Dewalt is specifically listed as being suitable for that blade. It didn't sit fully on the molded blade holder, but the holder's teeth went all the way through the blade. There was just a gap underneath. The spring-loaded latch held it as securely as any other blade, and that's how I used it, but it could cause the cut to shift. Carbide is much harder than metal, but the hardness makes it brittle. If you decide to purchase this blade please note that the direction of the cut is critical to success and in my experience cannot be guaranteed.
