I bought these waist packs to use while snorkeling. I usually like to take valuables with me instead of leaving them in a hotel room. The fanny pack seemed to keep my stuff dry most of the time when I was in the water. On the last day (6 days of use - 1-2 hours per day) water appeared to have entered the bag. When opening the package, it was difficult to tell if water had entered or seeped in. My husband and I noticed that when we first opened the bag after using it in the water, some water dripped out of the folds of the bag. Realizing this, I dried every fold and section as I opened it to keep water out of the bag. I keep my phone in my pocket, but I also put it in a plastic Ziploc case for added protection. On my last day in the water, I noticed a small amount of water in the Ziploc bag that was in my bag. Maybe it was condensation, but I wasn't sure. I will no longer carry my phone in my pocket on future snorkeling trips.
