Don't waste your money. I can't talk about taste or nutrition, but I can tell you about the birds that visit my garden. I have many very different birds that visit my garden. I have a mixed feeder and a white safflower. I refill my white safflower every day. What birds don't eat, what's on the ground under the feeding station, squirrels eat; despite claiming that they don't like safflower. In any case, I decided to give this golden safflower a try as it claims to have "more nutrients and less waste than white safflower" and is "not a favorite of squirrels". Well, after three days I throw it away. Literally no birds eat the golden safflower and I have no idea if the squirrels will eat it as the birds don't get close to the safflower feeder so nothing falls on the ground - the squirrels can't get to the feeders. Birds that normally flock to my white thistle feeder are now happy with mixed seeds. I come back to the white safflower, whose seeds they eat in droves. I'm convinced that there is "less litter" because the birds don't like it that much, if at all. In terms of value for money this is probably very good given that very little is actually eaten!
