Update: I bought one for my new house and I'll never have to go outside to turn on the Christmas lights again! The one I bought for my mum still works and we found another brand that had a 2ft cord so she can now use one each to run the front door and the door in the house Christmas lights turn on the basement. Pros: My mom doesn't have to go outside to turn on the Christmas lights. Easy to set up and use. Cons: very short cable, maybe 6 inches. If the cable was 2ft 0in long that would be perfect. So far my mother is happy with it. Next, an extension of 2 ft 0 in must be found. We must not have read the product description/spec sheet carefully enough, but it didn't make much of a difference because having a remote control was more important.
