Review on Thermal Grizzly Aeronaut - High Performance Thermal Paste for CPU and Graphics Card Coolers - Mute Heat Sink Paste (3.9 Grams) by Cody Stroop

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High quality thermal paste.

I've been an AS5 fan for a long time and have decided it's time to review thermal compounds to see if there's anything better on the market. The AS5 has always served me well, but I've always been concerned that it's capacitive. Thermal Grizzly, like many others, no. Reviews have shown that it outperforms AS5 as well as many other well-known brands. So I decided to give it a try. It came with a tube of compound and two different applicator tips. After running a CPU temperature test with Aida64 on my Noctua cooler, for a solid comparison I prepped my CPU and heatsink with arcticlean and applied Thermal Grizzly. I was impressed with how easy it is to apply and not like some others I've tried like Shin-Etsu and GeLid. The instructions recommend applying a full coat to the processor spreader rather than the rice or pea method, and the applicator tips make this incredibly easy. After rebuilding I ran the same stress tests with Aida64 for a full 10 minutes and noticed that the overall core temp on my 4770K had dropped 7 degrees from 47 to 40 degrees and individual core temps had also dropped 4-8 degrees compared to AS5 which has been on the processor for 6 months. I then ran the system under normal conditions for two weeks, repeated the test and saw a difference in core temperature of just 1 second. Overall, this thermal paste is very impressive and made a significant difference in my temperature. It's worth checking if you're using something like AS5.
