Review on 📀 Enhance Your Home Entertainment with the Philips DVP3355V/F7 DVD/VCR Player (Black) by Omar Malvo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

4 head VCR and decent DVD player without coaxial input/output

WARNING: This VCR/DVD player does not have coaxial input and output cables. If you want to connect a standard black coaxial cable from a cable or satellite box to this VCR and then run another cable to your TV, this is not possible. Red, white, and yellow composite RCA cables are the only way to connect the audio and video to this capture device, and the only way to send the output of a VHS tape to a TV. With DVD playback, there are several ways to send the signal to the TV; but with VHS, red/white/yellow cables are the only way to send video and audio to the TV. Here are the important specs from the manual that I couldn't find in the Revain description: VCR: • 4 head VCR • 19 micron head • Automatic head cleaner. • Automatic tracking (detects and removes static lines in one minute) • Manual tracking up/down adjustment on the front of the device. Use when auto tracking is not working. It couldn't be simpler.• DVD slow motion playback:• Audio language selection• DVD menu in your desired language• Subtitles• Parental lock• Slow play• Pause playback, fast/slow/step play• Auto continue• Enlarge video and audio output options: • p -End video (DVD only) • Component video output (red, blue, green) (DVD only) • RCA composite video and audio output (red, white, yellow) (DVD and VHS) • Digital audio output for surround sound. Your receiver must be able to decode the signal into surround sound. This is a raw digital signal that cannot be decoded by this device. To view the manual with the rest of the features, just google the DVP3355V manual. I only use this unit to play VHS and DVD tapes, not record. I have no opinion on his recording abilities. It seems to be a contentious issue for everyone. I think it's a pain to use it this way. If you are just looking for a VHS and DVD player then this is a good choice. Inserting and ejecting cassettes and DVDs is very smooth and quiet. Fast-forward, fast-forward, and playback on VHS are quiet and stutter-free. DVD playback is also quiet. The image quality is good for the output options mentioned. The video output on my TV screen is stable with no stuttering, wavy or curved lines in text or anything else on the screen, it's a stable and clear picture from all output options. It can play both VHS and DVD tapes simultaneously, which you can switch between using the remote control. The player is physically wide, but not as far out as the old VCRs. If you want to place another component on it, e.g. a cable box or satellite box, it may not be far enough behind. The remote control is surprisingly smooth and comfortable, batteries are included. All in all I like everything and have played many VHS tapes and DVDs on it. So far no problems. I will update my review if anything changes.
