Review on General Tools DLM1337 Digital Display by Jordan Rini

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for building managers etc. Works as advertised

This gauge has a built in stand so you can level the probe, tilt the gauge and read the large display from 1.5m to 3m away. This avoids errors caused by the shadow of your body. This meter is not intended for photographic use, but is accurate enough for that (perhaps with a user-supplied LUX/FC to ISO conversion table). I tested it on a NIST calibrated gauge and it was accurate. I use it for light metering in offices, retail stores etc. Many rooms are too bright. This article has helped me to help my clients find the right lighting while saving thousands of dollars on their energy bills. Interestingly, most people won't notice a 25% (or less) change in light level. To attempt. Here is a free table of recommended indoor illuminance levels: [.]

Pros
  • Easy to use; Pocket size and light weight
Cons
  • Off fashion
