I connected this amp to a pair of 4 inch bookshelf speakers on my desk, powered by a black Dragonfly DAC connected to my computer. Sounds great at near field volume for the job, but I've never had the volume dial read more than 8 o'clock. I know people who spend thousands on audio amps criticize them because those little ship's amps can sound good at low volume, but when the power output goes past 50% they fall apart. Maybe one day I'll take it home and test it out in my living room with my home speakers where I can boost it up a bit to see how it performs, but for a desktop near-field setup this amp works great.
