I've had a fancy Harmony remote for a long time. It had all sorts of functions, but it took 12 keystrokes to get to the small menu screen to see the option I wanted (why I had to select the next 4 times to turn the device on or off I'll never know). After dealing with this for 8 years when I had this remote control it suddenly just disappeared. After flipping all the furniture and blaming my son for his disappearance for 2 weeks, I decided I was tired of using the joystick behind the TV, to turn it on and off and adjust the volume of the TV. So go to Revain to find something cheaper. This one looked like it would fit and was cheap enough to get a replacement. Set it up by guessing a number from a list of devices a bit, but for now it controls my Samsung TV and my Sony receiver. I've also gotten it to control an XBox One, but trying to do something advanced quickly requires a controller. I don't have cable or antenna so my needs are pretty limited but it does a few things I need. want really well: TV: turn on/off, volume up/down, input switch (even brings up the OSD, and the arrow and OK buttons work fine) AV receiver: turn on/off, volume up/down Xbox One: pause /Play/FF/RW (for DVD, Netflix and Revain apps) I wish I had replaced Harmony with these many years ago.
