A few years ago I bought a Derwent version. This is a great sharpener that I still use, but it's quite expensive. I chose this one for my son. ADVANTAGES: - You can choose the type of tip you want for your pencil, which is not possible with Derwent. - You can take it with you everywhere (I use it for trips to France) as you don't need electricity to run it. - it's durable so it lasts a long time - the bin is extra large so you don't have to empty it often - cheaper than Derwent. CONS: - The best advice is slightly worse than Derwent.
