This pendant is exactly as shown in the picture. The elastic "rope" is placed where it should be. I wear it outdoors all day (in a place that is often windy) so I added felt and mesh inside so I can attach it more securely. You don't need to do this if you're primarily wearing it indoors. The choice of fabric is perfect for the fall runway and I love the heathered shade of gray on my very dark hair! EDIT TO ADD: forgot to mention. I didn't like the placement of the small alligator clip that came with the kit and how it was attached (the stitches were showing from the 'good' side), so I cut it off.
