Review on 🚿 Westbrass 7-inch Diverter Tub Spout in Polished Chrome (Model E507D-1F-26) by Jaleel Kadlecik

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice looking spout at a good price

I needed a longer spout to clean the overhang in our tiled bath/shower and this spout fits the bill. The older, shorter one has accumulated mineral deposits over the years and I was too lazy to replace it until it eventually rusted and started leaking (Photo 1). The old spout was a rear mount and I had to extend it with a cast iron coupler and 4.5" pipe to get 5 3/8" off the wall. The chrome ring mount they showed in the ad was pushed by the wall against the nipple and a coupler and tube were installed. The spout was then installed and tightened so that the fitting was snug against the wall. I then applied clear adhesive sealant around the outside and inside edges of the skirt ring. A quick check showed that the diverter was working and there were no leaks in the plumbing (I like that they made a drainage hole in the bottom of the spout). Allow sealer to dry for 24 hours before use. Now I'll have to see how it holds up as the old shorter spout has been there for over 15 years which shows how long I've put off this project. Anyway I finally did it and so far I'm happy with this spout and my wife thinks it's much nicer than the old one.

Pros
  • Zinc construction
Cons
  • Don't really like it is ok
