We saw a review of this product on the technical page and ordered it immediately. Missing out on the extra cost of next day shipping we had time to check out some tutorials on YouTube and were super excited to see what we were about to create! First, to answer some of the unanswered questions in the comments: 1. Yes, you can use one board for multiple devices. The physical board does not register a code and is not tied to a single iPad or user account.2. Yes, the board is required to build levels - but only in the Star Wars version. But the original version allows you to edit levels without a board once you "register" it in the original iPad app. From there you can do anything without the board - which is good because after that it can be difficult to get the original application to recognize a block on the board.3. No, I can't say the Star Wars board works with the original iPad app. It does, but it's so frustratingly bad at spotting the color of the blocks you've placed that we're dropping the board altogether. Now we come to my personal evaluation. When it finally arrived we tore it apart and got the attachments. installed on our devices. We took our YouTube tutorials and built a great little map, got an iPad Mini 4 and . He can't read the blackboard. Circuit board cannot be found. After 5 minutes of tilting, rotating, panning and zooming it finally caught the image but it was completely wrong, filled with orange pixels and missing most of the ones we placed on purpose. We gave up this iPad and tried their iPad. Mini 2. Similar results but it recognizes the board and captures what we collect with just a few errors. My iPhone 6s works best. So we started experimenting and found the following: 1. The Star Wars version doesn't allow you to customize characters, blocks or backgrounds. You are limited to what is stated in the application. All you can do is create a map.2. You must create your map layers using the board. You can't add anything outside the area recognized by the picture you take on the board.3. The lighting conditions in which you work should be almost perfectly uniform. Any shine on the board will cause your creation to be misread, and you can't fix it after binding other than removing the unintended blocks (there are a lot of them).4. Works well on my iPhone but difficult to edit on this small screen. Works best on my oldest son's iPad mini 2, doesn't work at all on my youngest son's iPad mini 4.6. There are no instructions or manuals in the box.7. Not specifically formulated for children with color blindness. One of me can't tell the difference between fluorescent orange and neon green blocks. He's so embarrassed he won't tell me if there are other people he's having trouble with. Did I just pay an extra $10 for an extremely limited version of Bloxels?
