Doesn't stand up to car electronics

I've had this camera for about 2 months and it definitely hasn't kept up with the times. It records decent video and audio, not true 1080p, but it's a quality picture. However, I found a number of shortcomings: - The assembly is very cheap. The suction cup only lasts about a week if I really try to stick it to the windshield. The part that connects the mount to the camera is loose and the camera shakes and moves freely. The camera doesn't always record! Sometimes it turns clips on and off randomly; I can miss minutes during my rides for no apparent reason. - The SD card is not always recognized; I use a 32GB Samsung card and half the time I have to restart my camera because I get the message "No SD card inserted". I formatted several times in camera. I also need to make sure the camera is actually recording. Here's the bad part: I'm almost *always* shocked when I touch the SD card slot. It might be static from my machine, but it's a significant jerk every time and I'm concerned that I might damage my SD card or camera. The price of this camera went up $15 just after I bought it, for the price it's a lot of issues now that I'm having, it's definitely not worth it. The Arizona heat wave, which is destroying all automotive electronics, is coming soon and I don't think this camera will last much longer. I'll get a new one soon.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not trendy
