5 stars so far because they come with an oil nipple and no paint peeling. I appreciate how the edges are beveled, but didn't like the initial rubbery smell. I was apprehensive about this but the overall reviews here made me give it a try. Here's what I did. After I received my 8x4s I left the box outside for a few days to see if that would help. There is no joy. Once the sun hit them I didn't want to be within 10 feet of the box. I hate that smell. The next step is to clean them. My favorite product was Ajax Powder Cleanser using bleach and hot tap water. I soaked an ordinary sponge in water and sprinkled about 1-2 tsp on the sponge. and only go to work with rubber. I laid the 8x4 on its side on a square piece of plywood to allow the wheel to spin freely but support the entire build. I would rinse the sponge out in a bucket of hot water and spray three times more Ajax on each wheel. I used a sponge to easily get into the protectors without brush spatter. I have avoided getting water or cleaner in the axle bearing or the lubricated pivot area of the ball bearing. I made sure to rinse them out before the ajax and water dried. I accidentally splashed some water in the axle area but I didn't seem to have ruined the bearings as wheel bearings on a skateboard can be destroyed the first time you ride through a puddle if they are not sealed. I left the wheels. dry outside. After four days the smell was almost gone. how did you go Well, like I said, I hate that smell and there is no way I will tolerate it. So I brought the 8x4 into my garage and didn't smell it. I went straight to the wheel and didn't smell it until I got unusually close (Hey Tires, we're just friends, this is for science). The real test was that I put the bike in my bedroom. I sit next to him and don't smell him. But when I pick it up and get behind the wheel, that smell still falls on my hands. So yes, 5 stars. FWIW I wanted some with full brakes and I'm a little frustrated because while I don't have to reinvent the wheel, of course I do have to reinvent brakes :)
