Review on Prismacolor 3722 Premier Double-Ended Art ๐ŸŽจ Markers Review - Fine and Chisel Tip, 72-Count by Amber Perez

I can't stop drawing with these lovely markers! I'm addicted and I need more!

I'm not a professional artist, but I've been painting all my life. So far I've almost always colored with crayons and only once or twice with cheaper markers. After buying another brand of markers because they were on sale and enjoying the process but not the markers themselves, I decided to see what else was out there. I've been using Prismacolor colored pencils for a few years now and love them for the quality so I thought this set would be a good choice. Well, let me just say I'm addicted to these markers; They are amazing! Although I have limited experience with markers, coloring with them has been an absolute pleasure and I'm having a hard time going back to crayons. You can say that this is the quality of an artist; In this environment I've been able to achieve things that I didn't know were possible before. For example, it was relatively easy for me to figure out how to paint without streaks, which I found impossible with other markers and so didn't realize it was an option. While I've heard these aren't the best markers out there, for the price I think they're as close to perfection as I can expect. However, I will still talk about some disadvantages that I encountered. Some marks turned out to be much drier than others, especially on the lighter colors. I updated them by pulling out a broad nib and pouring a small amount of 90% isopropyl alcohol into the marker and they worked great after that, but that's not necessary for their price. If you do this, be sure to only add a little as I added too much a few times and it leaked. Another disadvantage is the variety of colors. While this 72 color set is a great buy and makes them a lot more affordable than if you bought them individually, it's missing a few colors that I soon found essential. I personally recommend also buying these shades to complete your kit: PM 207 "Pale Peachโ€ for light skin; something like PM 70 Sand, PM 201 Cinnamon Toast or PM 89 Light Walnut as the lightest brown; PM 5 "Scarlet Lake" as medium red; PM 96 "Blondwood" and/or PM 132 "Jasmine" for a more natural, lighter hair color; and PM 202 "Sky Light Blueโ€ for bright blue skies. Finally, the flimsy metal handles I received with this set were junk and I had to put them in there. They leaked everywhere no matter what I tried and ruined more than one of my sites. Hope others have better luck. Although I'm new, I love these manufacturers and would recommend them to anyone who can't shell out a fortune on Copics. I've included pages from coloring books that I just color with Prismacolor markers, but they may contain a few of the colors I mentioned that weren't included in that original 72-piece set.
