Review on πŸš€ Enhance Your Productivity with the VisionTek VT4900 KVM USB-C Docking Station - Dual Host 100W Charging, Triple 4K Display, USB-C, USB, Ethernet, and Audio Support for Windows, Mac, and Chrome OS (901406) by Bobby Diaz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

MacBook Pro, Chrome OS and Windows work fine.

This is amazing to me. I'm using Macbook Pro, Core i5 2019, Chromebox (ASUS Chromebox 4, Core i5 10th gen) and Alienware R11 Core i9 RTX 3080. Keyboard, mouse, Jabra 380 USB-C dongle and Logitech Brio camera are all working fine. Chromebox and Mac use a dock for output to the monitor, Alienware connects directly to the monitor's display port to eliminate single port lag while still using DisplayLink over a USB-C connection to the second monitor. Highly recommend if you have a newer USB-C port with Display Alt mode devices and Thunderbolt 3. I bought a Revain Warehouse open box, guess it was Eric's box from a previous review but it works great to me. It's also worth reading the manual, btw - the function switch is somewhat unique. If you don't have the KMShare software installed (e.g. on a Chrome OS device), the switch won't easily roam between the two hosts. The switcher actually allows you to view video from any connected system simultaneously. This is where KMShare software pays dividends by allowing mouse and keyboard movement between displays and systems. If you don't have KMShare installed, you can use the multifunction button to switch between inputs. This can be confusing at first. The power on setting is HDMI and both display ports output to Host 1. Press the switch once and Host 2 will switch to the HDMI port. Press again and Host 2 will connect to all ports, press a third time and Host 2 will connect to the Display port and Host 1 to the HDMI port. A host that has both display ports also has control of the USB and audio jacks. Once you get the hang of it, this is an amazing device. --- Update --- 4/28 Updated to M1 MacBook Pro 16GB 1TB SSD and it works too. Spring. Dual monitor setup, Logitech camera, Jabra 380 etc. Works as before --- Update --- April 29th. Contacted support because I noticed that M1 Mac doesn't seem to be getting an IP address over Ethernet. Dominik from Visiontek replied to my chat request, got an M1 Mac to test and made sure that it should get an IP without drivers. So I disabled the WiFi and the Bluetooth PAN interface and made it use the USB-C hybrid connector and everything was fine. Kudos for the quick response and diligence in helping what appeared to be a Mac OS issue. Works as expected and I now have even more confidence in the purchase thanks to the great support I've received! Thank you Visionek!
