To be used as a direct replacement for my Sony A77 SLR camera, thus I had to buy it. When backpacking, every ounce counts, so I ditched my DSLR in favor of this camera to lighten the burden. Although the A6000 shared many of my camera's technical specs, it also had a few new and better features (more focus points, 4D autofocus, zebra for detecting highlights). It has a far better grip than other mirrorless cameras, making it easier to hold, and all of the controls are within easy reach. Wi-Fi was a great addition because it allowed me to use my phone as a remote—a feature I found to be far more useful and convenient than the built-in self-timer. It slows down little with distance, but that's tolerable. As a result of my testing, I have come to the conclusion that this gadget is a worthy, convenient, and effective replacement for a standard-issue single-lens reflex camera.
