Review on Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 SP XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Lens for Canon DSLR Cameras (Model A09E) by Eric Shaun ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The ratio of price and quality is very pleasing, I will repeat the purchase.

After a year of use, I can say with confidence that I was not disappointed in the purchase - Tamron took pride of place in my wedding photo backpack and travel bag. Quite compact and light, with a good picture, sharp throughout the entire range with convenient focal lengths, for many it can become the main lens for both serious work and travel for many years. And it’s just a pleasure for them to shoot flowers in the park. Yes, sometimes 24mm is not enough for a wide angle when shooting landscapes and events, but apparently because of such a price, something has to be sacrificed. Its bokeh is not the best, but not annoying either, and the focal length of 75 mm and aperture of 2.8 quite allow you to separate the subject from the background both in close-up and half-length portraits. For most scenes, such as shooting events, holidays, studio shooting and many other genres, this is perhaps one of the best lenses in terms of price / quality ratio. Such a workhorse. And the increased demand for the purchase only confirms this. Write questions on Instagram vinogradov_photo I can send RAWs and full size photos for review. P. S. Who wants to get a discount on the purchase of Tamron - please contact.

Pros
  • + Relatively inexpensive these days + small size and light weight + moisture protection is present + fast and accurate AF + sharp in the center and in the middle of the frame throughout the entire range + fairly fast and accurate focusing on cameras of the 3rd Sony series (on the 1st and 2nd everything is noticeably worse) + holds backlight well + small MDF, allowing you to shoot in the macro range
Cons
  • - weak sharpness at the edges of the frame - decent vignetting, especially at the long end - mediocre bokeh, especially in a photo with a complex background

In general, When a wider angle is needed I use the Tamron 17-28 on Tamron 28-75mm.

For this price, he simply has no competitors, the zoom is convenient

A good, competitive (in relation to more expensive counterparts) lens. The electronic focusing ring takes some getting used to.

According to the reviews, I expected more, to be honest . In fact - for a photo it will not replace a set of fixes of the same price level. It smears along the edges, the bokeh is uneven, the wide end is slightly missing. For video, probably better suited, tk. high resolution is no longer required, but you can work with zoom in the process of shooting,
